Dan Richards
B Free Studio Instructor
Dan first encountered yoga in 1997. He had been working for several years to develop strength and flexibility to help with hamstring and back issues developed from years of soccer and sitting in front of computer screen. A co-worker introduced a yoga class at the software company where he was working and he quickly realized that yoga presented a much better and more focused way of addressing these issues and immediately started incorporating what he learned in yoga classes into his regular routine. Over the years, Dan has worked to incorporate yoga and its associated philosophy into his professional and personal life.
In 2015, Dan completed a 200-hour Yogaworks teacher training certification under the guidance of Natasha Rizopoulos and immediately followed that with a 300-hour teacher training with Natasha through the DownUnderYoga School of Yoga at the end of 2015. Dan's been teaching since 2016. He has also continued personal development with Yin Yoga trainings with Josh Summers and Meditation training with Calmer Choice.
Dan believes that yoga presents an opportunity to create greater awareness of our selves and to learn to listen to our bodies and our minds. Dan's classes are focused on practicing safely and finding the right mix of physical and mental fortitude to both challenge ourselves and to care for ourselves.
